When Boots No7 launched their Future Renew range, it had a lot of hype around it from day one – I’ll never forget all the noise and buzz around the range on it’s first week of launch. Sales absolutely soared through the roof, and since then, Future Renew has certainly remained a popular range.
As a good chunk of time has gone since the launch, I wanted to write this review as I have genuinely purchased products from the collection since the launch. I am someone who has tried 4 products from the range, and have decided that the No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream has become my firm favourite – I was actually very surprised as to how much I loved it. It’s a product I recommend regularly.
As someone deeply invested in skincare and always on the lookout for the next breakthrough product, I was delighted to have the opportunity to try the Boots No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream last year, along with their eye serum and facial serum. I only have positives from the range, but it’s the SPF 40 Day Cream that is the one I have since purchased. Yep, not repeat gifting – bought with my cold hard cash.
Would i buy the range after having it initially gifted?
Would I buy the night cream, the serum or the eye serum after trying them? In short, yes, as I thoroughly loved using them. I’m not a huge eye product junkie in all honesty, but the Future Renew eye serum used underneath an eye cream was a game changer for me, so that would be the second product from the range I would buy.
I love a good quality, rich night cream for my dry skin, so again, the night cream would be up there too.
After incorporating it into my daily skincare routine for several months now (on and off, because you all know me and my job, I’m a skincare fanatic so I’m always introducing new products), I wanted to give the low down on why I love them all:
Packaging:
Let’s start with the packaging. The Boots No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream comes in a sleek silver tub with a giving it a sophisticated and modern aesthetic. The tub is not only visually appealing but also practical, allowing for easy and hygienic dispensing of the product. It’s fairly fuss-free, but sits nicely on either my bedside table or bathroom shelf and looks quite chic.
Texture and Application:
Upon first application, I was impressed by the luxurious texture of the day cream. Although it feels quite lightweight when absorbing into the skin, it actually does have a thicker, luxurious texture which I absolutely love for my dry skin. It has a super silky consistency that glides effortlessly onto the skin, instantly providing a burst of hydration without feeling greasy or heavy.
It leaves that dewy glow immediately after, and despite its rich texture, it absorbs quickly, leaving behind a smooth, velvety finish that serves as an excellent base for makeup. No need for an additional primer after using this.
Performance:
Now, let’s talk about performance – arguably the most crucial aspect of any skincare product. The Boots No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream boasts a broad-spectrum SPF 40, which is a significant selling point for me, considering the importance of sun protection in preventing premature aging and skin damage. I know that wearing an SPF on top of moisturiser as a last step is the best way to protect your skin, but I have to admit I already have a lot of layers in my skincare regime, so a moisturiser loaded with SPF is a winner for me.
This one offers both UVA and UVB protection, so it’s a comfort knowing it’s helping shield my skin from harmful rays throughout the day.
Beyond sun protection, this day cream is formulated with a potent blend of anti-aging ingredients, including Matrixyl 3000 Plus™, a peptide complex known for its skin-renewing properties. With continued use, I noticed an improvement in the overall appearance of my skin – it looked firmer, smoother, and more radiant. Fine lines and wrinkles I would say looked ‘eased’ – I’d never go as far as to say any product I’ve used has gotten rid of them, but if a day cream can sooth and ease them, that is my main goal for a youthful and rejuvenated look.
Longevity:
Another noteworthy aspect of the Boots No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream is its longevity. Despite its lightweight texture, it provides lasting hydration throughout the day, keeping my skin feeling soft and supple even in harsh weather conditions. I also appreciated that it didn’t oxidize or pill under makeup, ensuring a seamless application and wear. I actually think the texture is beautiful enough to wear in the evening too, but obviously I would always chose to use a dedicated night cream, but just saying…
Final Thoughts:
In conclusion, the Boots No7 Future Renew SPF 40 Day Cream has undoubtedly earned a permanent spot in my skincare cabinet. From its elegant packaging to its effective formula, this day cream really has exceeded my expectations. I didn’t expect to love it so much – if something has an incredible amount of hype behind it from social media, I’ll always be looking to see if I can pick it apart. But I really couldn’t.
Whether you’re looking for a reliable sunscreen or a multi-tasking anti-aging moisturiser, this product delivers on all fronts. I highly recommend giving it a try. For around £33 a pot, it’s not exactly a budget moisturiser, although doesn’t sit up there in the ultra premium high end category either, but due to it’s thick consistency, it did take me a long time to go through this lovely pot.
Other products from the range I’ll be pairing this with is the No7 Future Renew Night Cream, and the No7 Future Renew Eye Serum – the next two stand out products from the range I think really do what they say. Why not keep an eye on Boots running their 3 for 2 offers, too?
