If you happen to follow me on Instagram, you’ll see I’m always talking about my post partum hair loss. This is from my second baby, and boy has it been a huge hair fall period this time around. It started at 6 weeks post partum which is crazy early, and it lasted around 5 months.
I have never seen a loss like it, and I’ve really suffered with one side of my hair especially feeling like I’ve got about 100 strands left!
I’ve spoken openly about it across social media and have found that so many women out there – many who are mums going through post partum loss too, but also women in general who have experienced loss from stress or hormones (or no idea why)- are struggling too.
I came across Champo first via clever Facebook advertising. I saw the adverts come up, but in fairness the adverts were from recent posts from the brand, with hundreds of comments from customers below. The majority were positive, so immediatley I was intrigued. Then my Sister said she has heard so many great things about the brand.
I toyed with it for a few weeks, because that’s what I do when it comes to spending money on brands, and then when I couldn’t have felt more fed up at my whispy and weak parting, I went all in.

For honesty, after talking about my purchase on Instagram, the brand reached out to me and kindly sent me the Champo Pitta Volumising System, which was hands down one of the best packages to receive in all of 2023. I mean, the products are high end and sit on the more premium price range, so this set was received with the upmost appreciation!

The social media before and afters blew me away, and as someone who has struggled with hair loss myself, I was intrigued to try this product and see if it lived up to the hype.
What is Champô Pitta Hair Serum and What Were My Initial Thoughts?
Champô Pitta Hair Serum is a revolutionary hair care product formulated to combat hair loss and promote hair regrowth. Developed by experts in hair care and traditional Ayurvedic medicine, this serum combines the power of natural ingredients with modern scientific advancements to deliver tangible results. You add a couple of drops to your scalp, and the brand recommends 2-3 drops per concern area, however, this is where I confess I applied a lot more than this (eager beaver).
I would apply 5 drops around each side of my hair, at the front, near the hairline and front parting. Then, because my right side of my hair is so much thinner than the left, I’d apply another 5 drops sporadically across the scalp on this side. Then, I’d go back and apply 1-2 drops on other problem areas.

They say to expect results after 12 weeks, and I would say it was on week 10 that I started to see regrowth coming through. Some could argue my hair cycle would have kicked in naturally then, but I believe the amount of hair and the thickness of the regrowth was boosted by the Pitta Growth Serum. The areas I applied it were where the hair regrowth was coming through, and I’m not saying it happened overnight, but the fact it happened was what made me jump for joy.
And then used my gifted bottle. And then purchased my third. I have just recently ran out of the 3rd bottle and I’m taking a break for now, assessing how my regrowth comes through.

Ingredients that Make a Difference

My Honest Experience
I’ve been using Champô Pitta Hair Serum on and off for 6 months, but for the first 4 months I used it every evening before bed, so I’m going to focus mainly on my findings from that period.
So, I noticed a significant reduction in hair fall, that I cannot deny. Yes, my post partum hair loss was potentially tailing off by the time the serums benefits kicked it. Did the serum speed this up? Possibly, I will never truly know, but I believe it contributed. But because of my circumstances (post partum hair loss usually lasts around 6 months), my hair loss was due to start slowing.
What I can shout about is the regrowth that came, which I’ll get to next. I just thought I’d touch on how I was worried about applying a serum to my scalp and roots, and waking up with greasy hair. The serum’s lightweight texture made it easy to apply, and it didn’t leave any greasy residue on my scalp in the morning. Yes, when I applied it at night, immediately after I would say my roots did look a little ‘wetter’. But it faded very quickly so you could actually apply this in the morning if you wish. I just always apply products at night so they have through the night while I sleep to work their magic!
I appreciated the subtle herbal fragrance, which was a refreshing departure from the overpowering scents of many other hair care products.
Most importantly, I began to notice regrowth, and small but noticeable changes in my hair’s thickness and texture. All along the front hairline – after around 10 weeks of use – short shoots of hair began popping up. Fine and whispy to begin with, and then shortly after, thicker ‘tufts’ of hair. It started slow but within month 4, I had what looks like a full mini fringe forming. My hair in general, like all over, felt stronger. While results may vary from person to person, I can confidently say that Champô Pitta Hair Serum has made a positive difference to my hair regrowth, with the areas I applied the serum being the ones with the thickest and fastest growing hair.

I can only speak from my personal experience. If hair loss is due to illness or genetics, I can’t promise the results you would get. But if you suffer from Telogen Effluvium (surprises me how many hairdressers have never heard of this term) which is hair loss from stress, post partum, surgery, weight loss or any sudden shock to the body, then I do believe this serum can speed up your regrowth coming through, slow down your hair loss, and encourage thicker, fuller hair growth.

After 6 months using this products (not everyday, but for the majority), I’m happy with the regrowth coming through and look forward to it growing more so it eventually reaches my ponytail, and I can start to have a thicker pony. I am, however, having a break for a while and may put it down on my birthday wish list in two months time.
