As someone with dull, pigmented, and acne-prone skin, I’m always on the lookout for products that promise to tackle these effectively. Recently, I had a skin consultation at Oh My Glow Cheshire, who prescribed me a full skincare range from AlumierMD – a medical grade skincare brand that I’ve heard amazing things about for years.
I had an AlumierMD peel with salicylic and lactic acid around 6 years ago, and I remember the results were great, albeit I stupidly had it done a day before a wedding and I had a peeling chin, but it worked wonders for my jaw breakouts.
One of the products in my prescribed regime was one of the brands latest launches- AlumierMD Bright & Clear Solution. It’s a toner that claims to brighten the complexion and improve the appearance of pigmentation and acne.
Here’s my honest experience with this product.
First Impressions
The AlumierMD Bright & Clear Solution comes in a sleek, minimalistic bottle that feels luxurious. I confess I am a packaging snob! It aims to exfoliate dead skin cells, clear pores, and even out skin tone. Containing a blend of Lactic acid, Salicylic Acid and caviar lime to gently exfoliate and Kakadu plum extract for a boost of vitamin C, it all sounds promising for my skin concerns.
I’m a fan of both the acids for my acne prone and pigmented skin, so I had a lot of confidence in this product from the offset.
Application and Use
Super simple to use, as I just applied with a cotton pad twice daily after cleansing. The toner has a light, pleasant scent and absorbs quickly into the skin. No stinging, no irritation – it felt surprisingly gentle.
Results
Week 1:
In the first week, I felt slightly more pink upon application, which quickly subsided but this did happen after every use for the first week. My skin is incredibly sensitive and I go red after every facial! However, my skin felt ‘cleaner’ and more refined literally after week 1. I didn’t experience any significant changes in pigmentation or brightness initially, but my skin felt smoother to the touch.
Week 2-3:
By the second week, I started to see more noticeable results. The persistent dullness of my skin began to lift lightly, and my complexion appeared fresher and more radiant. The solution effectively managed my acne, I don’t know if it was just down to this or a combination of other things but the severity of breakouts around my jaw felt more eased. Pores appeared smaller, and I just felt ‘clearer’ really, is the best way to describe how I felt.
Week 4 and Beyond:
After a month of consistent use, the most remarkable change was in the pigmentation. This was the last area to see an improvement, so consistency is key (and my pigmentation is BAD!). Darker patches and acne marks had visibly lightened, and my overall skin tone was more even. Less ‘patchy’ I would say for sure, and my skin felt healthier and had this natural glow – especially first thing in the morning. The product managed to slowly brighten my complexion while also addressing the harsh pigmentation and preventing further breakouts, so I really can’t be negative at all about this product!

Overall Thoughts
The solution has actually been a game-changer and I wouldn’t pause to recommend this to someone with dull, pigmented and breakout prone skin. I will say for transparency that while using this product, I also implemented a full AlumierMD skincare regime, including Intellibright Complex (which I LOVE), so I do feel that the full range consistency helped maximise the results. I have also been having extractions done at a skin clinic to keep easing out my under the skin jaw breakouts.
It’s rare to find a product that tackles dullness, pigmentation, and breakouts all at once, without compromising the skin barrier or increasing sensitivity. But this solution delivered on its promises. My skin looks brighter, clearer, and more radiant than it has in a long time. I would give it 4 weeks plus to really see a difference, and to repeat again: be consistent.
