After years and years of having highlights, two babies and crazy hormones, my once frizz free, sleek hair has been a dry, parched, unruly mess for almost 3 years.
I was kindly gifted the range of Kerasilk products for taming and smoothing, and there were 3 particular products which really stood out that I felt needed a review. So, I’ve delved into three of their standout products: the Kerasilk Smoothing Mask, the Kerasilk Taming Balm, and the Kerasilk Strengthening Bond Builder. Each of these products promises to transform your hair, making it smoother, stronger, and more manageable. Let’s see if they live up to the hype.
Kerasilk Smoothing Mask
The Kerasilk Smoothing Mask is designed to deeply nourish and tame unruly hair. When I saw that it is infused with Keratin, I had high hopes for this mask, as I klnow from experience that keratin maks have great effects.
Loaded with ‘Liquid Silk’ as the product states, this mask promises to smoothen hair while providing intense hydration. Upon applying the mask, I noticed its rich, creamy texture which spreads easily through the hair. You really only need a small blob for hair past shoulder length (but not too long). I leave it on for 10-15 minutes, and after rinsing and doing a little towel dry, believe me when I say my damp hair feels super silky!
I mean nothing transforms the extra dry, parched sections of my hair completely, but this definitely gave it a super smooth feel. Once dry, the frizzy bits I have were significantly reduced, and bonus, my highlighted hair had a noticeable shine to it. I’d say this mask is perfect for a weekly deep conditioning treatment, leaving on for 15 mins if you have dry, frizz prone, highlighted hair especially. It’s around £30 to buy, so try to use a little of this so you don’t waste!
Kerasilk Taming Balm
Next up is the Kerasilk Taming Balm, a leave-in product designed to provide control over frizz and flyaways. This balm is lightweight and non-greasy, which I apply to my damp hair before blow drying. I found the balm helped in smoothing out my hair, it looks less ‘puffy’ after using it and contributed to a super soft feel. It doesn’t transform frizzy and dry hair to be uber sleek, just more realistic results with smoothing and taming – exactly what it says on the tin!
Kerasilk Strengthening Bond Builder
The Kerasilk Strengthening Bond Builder is a treatment that promises to repair and strengthen hair from within. I would probably say if you have weakened, dry, bleached hair, this is the one product to get if you only have budget for one.
It uses advanced BondPro+ technology to rebuild hair bonds that are broken due to chemical treatments or heat styling. I used this product once a week to begin with but now I go about twice a month using it. After a few applications, I noticed a significant improvement in my hair’s strength and elasticity, perhaps around 3 uses? The broken, dry areas felt a little stronger, and after a good two months I would say I could confidently feel my hair felt healthier and more resilient. This product is a must-have for anyone with damaged hair in need of serious repair and I feel it’s going to be a best-seller for Kerasilk going forward.

These 3 products work well for me with my dry and frizz prone hair, which is caused more from colouring and hormones. I obviously can’t comment for those who grow a natural frizz, but if you’re a girly prone to breakage etc, these will be amazing, I promise!
