As someone in their late thirties with a mix of skin concerns—pigmentation, redness, and the occasional breakout—finding a great cleanser can be a challenge. I am OBSESSED with balm cleansers, and recently shared my top 5 balm cleansers over here.
Since I complied the list, I have had a few others land on my desk to review. While none of the others impressed me enough to share, the Rosalique Anti Redness 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm actually did, and I felt it deserved it’s own review feature.
Here’s why I am impressed:

What is the Rosalique Anti-Redness 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm?
Rosalique’s cleansing balm is marketed as a multitasking hero that cleanses, removes makeup, and targets redness. It’s part of their anti-redness line, and the formula is designed to calm and soothe sensitive skin while being gentle enough for daily use. It’s also free from harsh ingredients, making it suitable for those with breakouts or who are prone to irritation.
First Impressions
The balm has a smooth, buttery texture that melts on contact with the skin. It feels luxurious and nourishing, but without the heavy, greasy feel that some balms leave behind. As I massaged it onto my skin, it quickly broke down makeup (even waterproof mascara!) without needing to scrub. It emulsified nicely with water, transforming from a balm to a milky texture that was easy to rinse off without leaving any residue. I always use a warm, wet flannel to remove after I have rinsed with water.
I will admit, I always do a double cleanse with a gel cleanser on days I wear makeup, as I always feel a balm alone is never enough for me and my heavy coverage! But I am a firm believer in the double cleanse method.

How It Addresses Pigmentation and Redness
One of my main concerns is pigmentation from past breakouts and general redness around my cheeks. I wouldn’t claim that this balm cleanser can tackle my pigmentation as such, however the formula includes ingredients that not only cleanse but work to calm and balance skin tone. So I did notice that after each use, my skin looked less pink, and the flushing behind some of my pigmentation areas was less obvious. Over the 6 week time period of using nightly, the redness in my cheeks after washing was much calmer.
I can’t comment on those with real flushing or rosacea, but for my level of pinkness and angry patches, it certainly helped to ease.
Breakouts and Post-Cleansing Results
Having breakout-prone skin means I’m always cautious about ingredients that might clog my pores. I tend to get them mainly around my jawline – a total hormone induced problem. Fortunately, the Rosalique balm didn’t feel too heavy, and my skin felt soft and clean afterward. The formula includes nourishing ingredients that support the skin barrier, which is essential for keeping my skin calm and reducing the likelihood of new breakouts.

I can confirm this balm did not aggravate or cause any new breakouts – hooray!
Makeup Removal Power
As someone who wears makeup almost daily, I need a cleanser that can break down foundation, long-wear lipstick, and waterproof mascara. Rosalique’s cleansing balm handled this beautifully! I could see my foundation and bronzers melting away as I massage it in, however I did feel the need to do a gel cleanse after wiping away with a warm wet flannel. I don’t know if this is just me, but as mentioned above, on makeup wearing days I do rely on a double cleanse, and always follow up my balm cleanser with a gel cleanser.
I don’t need to do this on non makeup wearing days though.
Final Thoughts
I’d say we’re all getting slightly overwhelmed with choice now when it comes to balm cleansers, but the Rosalique Anti-Redness 3-in-1 Cleansing Balm has it’s own edge. It is a wonderful addition to anyone’s skincare routine, as it is gentle enough for daily use, effective at removing makeup, and calming for sensitive, redness-prone skin. It’s not easy to find a cleanser that tackles multiple concerns—pigmentation, breakouts, and redness—but Rosalique has crafted a formula that does just that.

Pros:

- Effectively removes makeup, including waterproof products
- Doesn’t leave a greasy residue, and skin feels soft post-use
