I’m a sucker for facial devices – anything that aims to help with numerous ‘things’ to do with my skin gets me super excited. When I had the chance to try out the PMD Wave Pro Advanced Skin Spatula, I was pretty keen – I saw that it has functions to infuse skincare, tone muscles and extract whiteheads and blackheads.

As a skincare enthusiast and device junkie, I was eager to see if this sleek, modern tool lives up to the hype. It has 3 modes: Extract, Infuse and Lift. So let’s see what I thought…

Design and Features

Firstly, the PMD Wave Pro boasts a super sleek design that’s both aesthetically pleasing and functional. It’s lightweight and easy to handle, with a simple interface that even beginners can navigate effortlessly. The device comes with multiple modes—extract, lift and infuse—each targeting different aspects of your skincare routine.

Performance

Mode 1: Extract

OK this is the one I feel I can’t review 100% because thankfully I don’t have whiteheads, and my blackheads are very very tiny (and don’t really bother me). Utilising negative ions that help lift debris, dead skin, and sebum out of the pores, this step helps to dislodge and extract impurities from the pores. While traditional extraction can be harsh and painful, this tool offers a gentler alternative. It is completely pain-free, I mean it actually feels really nice! I do feel like the side of my nose is less congested, but with not having many blackheads to begin with, this is the mode I used the least.

Mode 2: Infuse

So this is my favourite mode, and if you love layering your skincare, you’ll definitley love it too. The infuse mode uses positive ions that split skincare into smaller molecules. This allows skincare to be more easily absorbed into the skin. You can use it on serums and moisturisers to get best results, and personally I feel this feature is a game-changer.

If you want the reassurance that your skincare products are penetrating deeper into the skin for maximum efficacy, this is the mode you’ll love. After a few uses, my skin felt more hydrated and plump after using this mode with my hyaluronic acid serums and plumping moisturisers.

Mode 3: Lift

I feel like the ‘lifted’ effect has become one of the biggest skin trends – everyone is wanting that toned look, and with faster results than what Gua Sha and ‘FaceGym’ gives. Here the Lift mode uses E-Wave™ Technology, an electrical current to stimulate the muscles, helping to give a more toned and youthful appearance.

Now it took a few goes for me to see results, I didn’t see them immediately, and I’m not sure if some do and some don’t? I would say it took the 3rd go before I felt that around my cheekbones looked more taunt and lifted. It took regular use to keep the lifted look, but the main thing is, it does actually work!

Pros and Cons

Pros:

• Versatility: With the different mode, the PMD Wave Pro caters to a comprehensive skincare regimen.
• Ease of Use: The device is user-friendly, with clear instructions and an intuitive design.
• Efficiency: Delivers noticeable results, not immediately on me but really after not that long.

Cons:

• Price: At the higher end of the skincare tool spectrum, it may not be accessible for everyone.
• Learning Curve: While generally easy to use, achieving optimal results may take some practice and experimentation.

Final Verdict

I would say that if you are a skin gadget skin, and want a device that tackles 3 concerns in one device, the PMD Wave Pro Advanced Skin Spatula is a great one to look into. Yes, it’s a pricier tool, but if you think about FaceGym sessions, extraction facials etc, the time it takes to do lifting facials, you’re really saving on time here.

I hadn’t been aware of this tool before, so I went in with little to no expectations, and I’m genuinely happy with it. If you suffer with stubborn blackheads and whiteheads, I’d be keen to urge you to try, as I couldn’t speak for this area as much as I can the lifting and infusing.
